Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza
Local and overseas celebrities including Korean star, Lee An will be making special appearances at Children’s Charities Association’s (CCA) ‘Love In Any Language’ Christmas Fair 2008.
Every year since 1965, Children’s Charities Association has been organizing the Annual Christmas Fair cum Walkathon to raise funds to help the less fortunate children under the care of the six member charities. This year, this major fundraising event will be held on Saturday, 22 November 2008 at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza from 8.30am to 6pm.
The event begins with the Children’s Charities Association Walkathon at 8.30am. Bring your kids down and meet Kooky, Channel 5 Cares Mascot who will flag off the Walkathon.
Themed the ‘Love In Any Language’ Christmas Fair 2008, the event will be graced by CCA’s patron, Mrs. S R Nathan as the Guest-of-Honour. The highlight of the day features a fashion show – Fashion MINDS: Shineon! Love Recycled, specially prepared by 25 children from MINDS Lee Kong Chian Gardens School and Shineon! School on Stage. Hosted by Margaret Lee and Lin Youfa, the show features apparels donated by our local celebrities Mark Lee, multi talented artiste Jiu Jian, Kenn, a composer/actor/ singer/ writer, Yang Lina, Yang Libing and many more. With a little creativity, students of LaSalle and NAFA will then transform the apparels to beautiful kids’ wear for these young models, to make a fashion statement.
To add sparkle to the event, a Channel 5 All Star 2009 Calendar will be launched and sold at the fair. This limited edition calendar feature stars such as Gurmit Singh, Fiona Xie, Adrian Pang, Michelle Chia, Michelle Chong, Utt, Andrea Fonseka, Chua Enlai, Rebecca Lim, Julian Hee, Aaron Aziz and Jas Arora. Retailing at only $15 each, proceeds will be donated to CCA. Some of the artistes like Adrian Pang, Michelle Chia, Fiona Xie, Rebecca Lim, Utt, Michelle Chong and Chua Enlai will be on site to autograph the calendars!

now i am all alone in the office and bored to tears.. nope, its not as if i am very free but my work is interpreting..
yup, you heard right. i am an interpreter.
which language do i interpret for?
sign language.
yes, sign language.
shall talk more about my work next time.
anyway, as an interpreter, i interpret. which means, my work is out bound, not in bound. thus, i am busy when i need to interpret (which i did these few days).
i had been running around everyday this week and today, i am supposed to be out the whole day too. however, there was last min changes and ta da! i am stuck in the office.
i don't really mind but today, all my colleagues took time off and i am all alone in the office.
thats............................ boring. =(
i have been stoning since 1230pm and it has been 3hours. boring.
and thus, i started taking random pics.
my schedule for this month (and its still adding!):

its not a joke when i say i am busy. my schedule is sooooo full! and its still adding. =.=
some heart shaped leaf i had picked up one night while taking a stroll:

my butterfly contact lens:

a newspaper cutting of Mrs Nathan's visit to my workplace, The Singapore Association for the Deaf yesterday:

then, i started playing with all the photo editing software - picasa, CS 3, photoscape, photofurnia etc etc.
and came up with random pics.. lol..

i am bored. i really am. ok, i think i should REALLY get started with my designing of joy's blog layout before she starts screaming at me. lol. ciao~

as promised, i went to ladies night with my best friend and pam.
we were pretty excited actually.
joy wore a brown podka dots tube top and was "forced" to buy a new top to change as pam has phobia (an extreme phobia) against podka dots.
apparently, bad things will fall on her when she get into physical contact with podka dots. so yea.. lol..
before we went clubbing, they accompanied me to get hair extensions.
they were patient enough to wait for 3hours..
and joy bought alot of clothes while waiting.. lol.
and accordingly to them, i look better in long hair.. sexier in a sense.. lol..
well, i guess girls still look better in long hair, more feminine.
but in such a hot weather, i admit i am crazy to have hair extensions.
but i am vain, i really am. lol.

after that, we took a cab down to O bar.. i remembered joy telling the taxi driver to stop in front with the BIG O.
what a way to describe.. lol.

anyway, clubbing was boring..
the clubs were filled with underdressed people and lousy music..
people were wearing tank top, shorts and sneakers.. some with slippers still and they were in!
what's wrong with the door bitches and bouncers?!!

'O' was really terrible.. the DJ kept playing lousy music and from what pam and joy said, the DJ played the same songs every week!
omg. thats really bad. it totally killed my mood to dance and enjoy.
i only had 3 glasses of alcohol and danced for a max of 1 hour in total.

wait, i think it was only half an hour. OMG!
we drank, danced, camwhored and fooled around (nope, nth xxx rated)..

ok.. maybe it was a bit x rated.. =X
and oh, there were these 2 girls who kept dancing dirty, or they were trying to. but it was obscence. the actions were too big and too exagerrated.
we left her at 1am to 'Z' (as she refused to follow us.. lol..) and it was worse.

it was crowded and the people there jus sucked big time..
seriously, if you are big and tall and CLUMSY, don't club!
i was actually punched near the eye by one idiot!
i seriously did not know what the hell he was doing, he was like a robot trying to be human and dance and he elbowed me.
i was furious. i really was. all vulgarities were out.
i mean, what the hell was that?
i was the target the whole night!
i got pushed, stepped and elbowed!
damn.
not to mention the music sucked big time.
we left at 230am. this was the first time i had left early in zouk on a wednesday.
after that, we went to buangkok to have supper. and we met weirdos who kept whistling and asking us to join them for drinks.
crazy. if we wanted company, we would have asked guys along for clubbing (which we DID NOT).
after supper, we passsed by them and they did the same thing again.
idiots.
we walked all the way to the main road junction to get cabs instead of the taxi stand right in front of the food court.
tats how irritating they were.
and there were only the 2 of us, 2 girls with nothing to protect ourselves with.
later, i got on the cab while joy was still waiting.
i was worried as the road was EMPTY. yes, EMPTY.
so i called her and she jus boarded the cab.
there was a guy driving an expensive car and slowed down to ask her if she wanna join him for a spin or sth.
she said no and he followed her.
lucky for her, a cab came and she boarded it immediately.
desperados everywhere man!
what's wrong with them?! duh.
*rolleyes*
anyway, i feel that i'm really a pubbing person now.. i prefer chilling out and singing songs than dancing..
does it have something to do with age or?

another 17hours or so, and you shall see a different me.
at a strange yet familiar place, having the horrible yet heavenly drinks, listening to the noisy yet soothing music.
yes. i will be clubing tmr with my best friends and a bunch of great friends!
our route for tmr night: DBL O, O BAR, ZOUK. well, we may drop by SB before starting our dancing spree!
so come and say hi if you were to see me! :D

i am seriously considering having a bike again.
i can't stand the daily squeezing of the train, having to feel the heat of another human being in front of me, the body odour of the man beside me, the feel of "thing" from a man behind me and the fart of some idiot in the train.
that is the worst thing that a person can do, esp during such a peak period where everyone was gasping for breath in the train. with a person farting, the rest can't breathe at all.
either you breathe in the fart, or u hope u wont die from suffocating before you reach your stop. asshole.
not to mention having to miss at least 2 trains before i am being pushed and squeezed like a cheese into the train.
the worst "daily procedure" is to shout "EXCUSE ME!" when i wanna alight as the idiots standing at the door (mind you, not those who are dying to get in but those who are ALREADY in the train!) who wouldn't budge, standing like statues, hypnotizing themselves into believing they are just spirits, and we human beings, will have no problem passing THROUGH them to get out of the train.
which of cos, sadly to say, they are NOT ghosts, and we CANT pass THROUGH them, we have to pass BY them in order to get out of the blooody train!
so either you try to push your way through, or you can try shouting "EXCUSE ME!" and hope that they will get the message and move out of the door so that you can pass.
of cos, there will be idiots who do not understand the meaning of "excuse me" and stand there still. the most they will do are to turn their body so that their shoulders face the door instead of their chest.
well, it helps if there's only ONE person blocking the door, but most often than not, there are at least THREE people blocking the door! if all three were to turn that way, its NOT going to help matters!
then, when i reached the bus interchange, i need to queue up for the bus. the queue is extremely long. i m not exaggerating. its like queueing for hello kitty (years back) or iphone (recent).
the only difference is the queue is divided to 3 or 4 rows as the long queues are the same for almost all the bus.
for those who has no idea, i need to take train from amk to tpy every morning, and take bus 31 to my workplace at mountbatten. it takes 1 and a half hour and thus, time is precious.
some would say, "wake up earlier lah!" but then, how early can you wake up? i'm waking up at 6am everyday now and still, i am stuck in the human jam.
there are more n more people taking trains now and with everybody having the same thinking of waking up earlier to prevent getting stuck in the jam, the time for jams only shift to an earlier time and worse, it lasts longer!
really. by the time i reach my workplace, i am always in a bad mood, cos i always look messy and sweaty sometimes. damn.
so i should start scouting for good and cheap bikes.. i am still in love with SP but the petrol will kill me (i am poor and stingy, kill me).. maybe i should get vespa. lol. i want vintage bike!
any lobangs? :D

An email sent by Jer & I wanna share with all of you who are reading my blog. do spend some time reading it alright? =)
A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.
SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'
DAD: 'Yeah sure, what it is?'
SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD (angrily): 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?'
SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'If you must know, I make $50 an hour.'
'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow $25?'
The father was furious.
DAD: 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.'
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?
After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down , and started to think:
Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.
'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.
'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier,' said the man. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $25 you asked for.'
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.
The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.
The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.
'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.
'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied.
'Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.
It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life.
We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts.
Do remember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love.
If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.
